: lights travel faster than my fingers on the ivory velvet of your belly :

obsessions

There is something that should be said about online fandom; some have the summed attraction of a car wreck (Mutant X), some have dignified discussions between separate parties (Alias and Anime in general), while some tend to border somewhere in between (Stargate SG-1). All fandoms have the same X-factor, though: the thrill of discovering something new, and being sucked in a world wherein everyone has an opinion and wield their own special way of sharing it.

While some people in fandom tend to behave in means that you know they will never behave in real life, and while engaging into a particular fandom could be embarassing at times (Mutant X), the fact still remains that you will end up meeting really good people; people you will probably never meet in real life, but whose sincerity and ingenuity could shock you at times, and make you wonder if they really do just exist within those thin walls of online anonymity.

This is what I learned in my currently going-on stint in online fandom, and these are the fandoms I've dabbled on. In simplest terms, this part of my domain is a departure from my somewhat serious life as a literature student. ;)
